About Me
Who Am I ?
Julian Austin is a Houston native whose passion for storytelling began at just seven years old. After years of honing his craft in Dallas, TX, he has returned to his hometown to lead a new era of bold, culturally resonant theater.
Julian’s journey as an actor, writer, and director spans more than a decade, with standout performances in both stage and film. His credits include Black Boys Cry, Kila'Delphia, Every Rose Has Its Thorns, Chicken N’ Biscuits, Sleeping with the Enemy, Rumors, Watch Night, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Soul Purpose, and many more.
While attending Sam Houston State University, Julian made his directorial debut with the original stage production The Black Museum: A Black History Showcase. Since then, his body of work has grown to include acclaimed productions such as Merry Martell Christmas, Secrets of a Broken Heart, Odessas' Cajun Cabaret, Brown Sugar Review, and Private Chambers.
During his time in Dallas (2015–2018), Julian made a lasting impact through his work with youth outreach organizations like Drama Kids and All Stars Project, teaching and directing across the city. He also co-founded Dream Writing Productions, producing original shows including What’s Yours is Mine, Welcome to the 90s, and A Life in Shambles.
Now operating on his own, Julian continues to craft work that challenges, inspires, and reflects the richness of Black culture and human experience. Whether on stage or behind the scenes, his vision remains clear: to tell stories that leave a lasting imprint.
